Leadership isn't something that is available just to those of us with gray hair. However, there is something to be said for the lessons that the University of Life teaches us along the method to those gray hairs!

And was Paul looking for the job of taking the Gospel to the Gentiles? Probably not. It's difficult to envision that even Timothy was too excited about getting circumcised, leaving home, and travelling with Paul so he could extol remaining in apostolic management. Whatever the course of management within the church might take, we can presume from scriptural examples that corporate-style leadership is not the appropriate template to imitate. God has His own ways of selecting leaders, and sometimes it does not consist of a system of 'making' it.

Not constantly. I recognize things occur that are outside of your control. However, effective leaders have one thing in typical and it's not something they found out from management books. Reliable leaders let their character guide them. Their vision, the relationships they build, their decision making and the method they establish their individuals all come from rock solid character. If your character isn't directing your actions, you will have trouble using what you find out from leadership books.

When we believe of herd dominance we often visualize stallions up on their hind legs battling with each other. It looks extremely violent and really physical. Horses do apply dominance by moving each other around with body language. It can at times get quite physical and the physicality of it can be quite remarkable to those who are not familiar with horses. But my two leaders seldom take part in these physical video games and in reality to the majority of observers Nubee and Suzy to seem to be the most passive members in the herd. Both of them are able to put the other horses in their place with nothing more than an appearance.

Do not resist or turn down tips and ideas. If it does not captivate inputs from individuals working it is working with, a leadership will not be vibrant. A self-sufficient leadership may produce results, however they will not be as amazing or course breaking. New ideas are new life breathed into a leadership. Innovation enhances a leadership.

I have 2 herds, one male (geldings) and one female (mares) so I have been able to observe management activity in 2 really various groups. It is always fun to ask visitors to select out the leader in each of our herds. Nobody has actually ever effectively recognized either of my herd leaders.
